Chapter One: A Decision That Changed Everything

Chapter One: A Decision That Changed Everything

As I looked back over my life, somewhat pleased at what I had accomplished so far, the lives I had touched, the programs and organizations I had started that improved the lives of many across the country...and yet...I knew there was more, a gnawing feeling inside that in spite of the good I had accomplished, I had not yet accomplished the main assignment, my main purpose in life.

I knew it. None of us know how long we will live, and the idea that I could leave this earth and not accomplish the main purpose I was born to begin with was tormenting.

It was risky. It was both scary and exciting. I made the decision to shut down my counseling center, burn the bridges and let go of everything familiar so that I could spend the rest of my life focused on accomplishing my purpose and destiny and helping others to do so same.

This was a true leap of faith. The overall goal was clear. The steps to achieving it was not. The only thing I knew was that God loved me and He would let what I had accomplished—the lives I had touched, the programs and organizations I had started, and the opportunities God had given me to improve the lives of people across the country.

God loved me too much to let His dream for my life die.

Through prayer... dreams... Scripture... and the encouragement of others, He continually reminded me that He was calling me to something more.

Finally, one day, I simply said... “Yes.”

“I trust You to guide me, provide for me, and show me each step along the way.”

Looking back now... I can say without hesitation... God has been faithful.

Chapter Two: Where the Journey Began

Chapter Two: Where the Journey Began
A quiet morning devotional scene with a Bible, journal, coffee, and a book about faith

To my surprise, God didn’t ask me to begin by creating an organization or developing strategies to help people discover and fulfill their purpose.

Instead, the very first thing He asked me to do was write a book.

At first, it didn’t make sense. If the assignment was to help people walk in their purpose and destiny, why begin by writing a book about my personal relationship with Jesus?

It seemed like an unusual—and honestly, illogical—place to start.

But over time, I began to understand.

My Love Relationship with Jesus became much more than my personal story. It shared the journey of developing a genuine two-way relationship with God and the many difficult seasons He faithfully carried me through. Each experience reinforced one simple truth:

Before we can fulfill God’s purpose for our lives,
we must first learn to recognize His voice
and trust His guidance.

Then, in the final chapter, everything came together. I shared the purpose God had revealed for my life and the blueprint He had given me to accomplish it.

Looking back, I can now see what I couldn’t see then.

God wasn’t simply asking me to write a book. He was laying the foundation for everything that would eventually become Destiny to Dynasty.

And once again…

I said, “Yes.”

I didn’t realize it then, but God wasn’t asking me to begin with strategy.

He was asking me to begin with relationship.

Everything else would be built on that foundation.

Chapter Three: The Question I Couldn’t Ignore

Chapter Three: The Question I Couldn’t Ignore

For decades, I had the privilege of helping people discover their purpose through retreats, seminars, workshops, and online courses. One of my greatest joys was watching the expressions on people’s faces when they finally understood why God had created them.

But as they began thinking about how to bring their God-given vision to life, a different reality began to set in. The excitement often faded as they realized the resources to make it happen seemed out of reach.

That broke my heart.

The questions stayed with me.

The questions that stayed with Donna

Why were so many good people still struggling?

Why did purpose so often end in frustration?

Why did nonprofit organizations always seem to need more resources?

Why were so many families only one unexpected crisis away from financial devastation?

Why did people with enormous hearts so often lack the resources to make an enormous difference?

I couldn’t simply accept that this was the way things had to be.

I had to find an answer.

Little did I know that the search for that answer would take me on a journey I never could have imagined.

Chapter Four: Looking Beyond Traditional Answers

Chapter Four: Looking Beyond Traditional Answers
A conversation between two people in a warm study

I was determined to find an answer. God had placed dreams in the hearts of ordinary people, surely He also had a way to provide the resources to accomplish them.

That question sent me on a journey.

I read books. I attended seminars. I interviewed successful entrepreneurs and millionaires. I wanted to understand how people built wealth—not simply to become wealthy, but to discover how purpose-driven people could create lasting financial resources to care for their families, fund God’s assignments, and become a blessing to others.

One conversation changed everything.

One of the entrepreneurs I interviewed invited me to spend two days with him and his family. He allowed me to shadow him as he went about his daily life and business. I watched carefully, asked questions, and learned as much as I could.

Toward the end of the second day, I shared my heart.

You don’t believe God will fund
the vision He has given you?

I told him about my passion for helping people discover their purpose and my desire to help nonprofit organizations and ministries secure the resources they needed to fulfill their missions.

Then he asked me what my plan was.

Without hesitation, I described the only funding models I had ever known:

  • Writing grants.
  • Seeking donations.
  • Traditional fundraising.

He leaned back in his chair, looked at me with genuine surprise, and asked a question I have never forgotten.

I sat back in my chair just as stunned as he had been. No one had ever challenged my thinking that way before.

Until that moment, I had unknowingly limited God to the traditional funding models I had always seen.

But this man lived differently.

Every year, he used a significant portion of the wealth his businesses generated to fund missionary work throughout South America.

His business wasn’t separate from his ministry.

It funded it.

That conversation opened a door I didn’t even know existed.

It sent me on a completely new journey—one of studying business, wealth creation, stewardship, investing, entrepreneurship, and the many ways God could provide resources far beyond the methods I had always known.

Some ideas worked.
Others didn’t.

But every step was preparing me for something I couldn’t yet see.

Eventually…
God would reveal the missing piece.

It wasn’t just what I learned that changed me…
It was realizing that God’s provision is never limited
by our thinking, only by our willingness to trust Him.

That journey eventually became the Destiny to Dynasty Blueprint.

What began as my search for an answer became a pathway designed to help others turn God-given purpose into something they can build, sustain, and multiply.
